Veranda Refurbishment
Old Town Hall Tunbridge Wells
ZAC was approached by a client for veranda refurbishment as part of an ongoing project to restore the old Town Hall in Tunbridge Wells. Our client was intent on restoring the late Georgian building to its former glory, including the veranda and window canopies.
ZAC worked in conjunction with the client who supplied detailed architectural drawings showing what was required.
Detailed measuring and templating was then carried out to ensure the original curved zinc canopy profiles could be replicated. Curved mild steel frames were then constructed in ZAC’s factory.

It was decided to use continental-style drip flashings, the preferred solution for historic buildings. This method requires no chasing, thereby preventing damage to the original stonework. Further information is available at https://zac.ltd/continental-drips/
