This month’s blog is all about The Cotswold.
This type of canopy is very versatile. “Why is it so versatile?” I can hear you saying.
Well, we start off, as with all our canopies, with a powder-coated, mild steel frame. The canopy is then clad with zinc or copper. However, we can manufacture this canopy in many different styles to suit several different applications.
For example, this canopy needs minimum head room above a door – only 70mm. It can also be easily adapted to sit on just one oversailing brick course above a door.
The slim line looks do look stunning, although if the customer prefers a deeper canopy, we can manufacture this with a deeper drip. This gives the canopy a more robust look, which looks very stylish on contemporary buildings.
We manufacture The Cotswold canopy with matching support brackets and these can be made in many different designs.
As with all our canopy frames, we can powder coat to any RAL number. We can also make bespoke Cotswold canopies to fit into those awkward corners.
And on the subject of bespoke Cotswold canopies, we were contacted by a customer in Epsom in Surrey which is not too far away from our factory in Croydon. I agreed to make a site visit as they said it was a bit awkward and they could do with some advice.
The existing canopy had been manufactured with timber and at some time, waterproofed with felt. The timber had now rotted, leaving it in a very precarious state, as you can see.
I gave the client a little sketch to give him an indication of what the canopy would look like. He liked it and asked us to proceed with manufacture. He asked if we could install and I said yes as he was within the M25.
Now doesn’t that look better? The customer was very impressed, another very happy customer.
Apart from our traditional Cotswold canopy designs, we are frequently asked for something more contemporary.
Here are some photos of canopies we have manufactured for clients.
