The Cotswold

Our Cotswold door canopy was inspired by the many beautiful houses found in the Cotswolds. Although it gives the impression of being a single sheet of zinc or copper, our skilled tinsmiths fold and form the bead and drip separately before soldering the different pieces together. The zinc or copper cladding sits on top of a sheet of galvanised steel, which gives it its strength and slim line look. Customers can then select to finish the canopy off with their choice of circlet or sunburst brackets either side.

The overall height of our standard Cotswold canopy is only 420mm, but we have recently introduced a new slimline version that is only 390mm high. This is particularly ideal for doorways with a limited gap above the door. In fact, all you need is 70mm above the door to accommodate our slimline Cotswold version! Furthermore, we can also adapt the frame to suit protruding brickwork; we believe we are the only UK company to do this.

By standard, our Cotswolds are built to depths of 630mm and 750mm and widths of 1300mm and 1510mm, however, as with all of our canopies, we are able to make bespoke canopies to fit in with a customer’s own specific requirements. Customers can then select whether their door canopy is clad with natural, anthra, or quartz grey 0.7 gauge VM Zinc, or 0.6 gauge natural copper.

Architects, designers and property developers are choosing our Cotswold door canopies due to their innovative designs, practicality and the aesthetically pleasing natural materials used.

We use zinc and copper for our canopies because both require a minimal amount of energy to manufacture. This is because the consumption of energy required to manufacture zinc metal from mineral is lower than that required for any other metal used in building applications. Furthermore, unlike GRP canopies, our door canopies will last in the region of 100 years and do not degrade or discolour due to ultra-violet sunlight.

You will see from the photographs below, that many of our customers have selected the Cotswold because of its versatility.

The Cotswold is manufactured in 0.7 gauge VM Zinc or 0.6 Copper.

Available colours are:
