Commercial Canopies
Creating a Bold Entrance to a Building
Enhancing the aesthetic and functional appeal of a property often begins with its exterior, and few features are as transformative as meticulously designed entryway structures. This is not only true of houses but is also true of bigger and commercial buildings. This blog shares details of some of the projects we have undertaken on larger buildings ranging from hotels to blocks of flats.
The use of metal in crafting canopies, verandas, and porches not only offers unmatched durability but also opens up endless possibilities for customisation. These bespoke creations not only protect against the elements but also add a touch of elegance to any building, seamlessly blending with architectural styles ranging from the historical allure of Victorian and Georgian designs to the sleek sophistication of contemporary aesthetics.
Clad in quartz zinc to match the building’s windows and doors, below is a photograph of a top-hung flat roof Cotswold door canopy installed onto a newly built block on the Reading University campus. The canopy covered the side entrance into the building giving plenty of space for people to stand under.
Also clad in quartz zinc, the below canopy was installed onto the hotel entrance to Dunstan Hall Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort in Norfolk. Although bespoke, the canopy design was based on our Belgravia Classic and had bespoke rustic flagpole brackets to add some period charm.
Installed onto a charming wedding venue in Cambridgeshire, the below shows a veranda with a natural zinc canopy roof and white posts. This beautiful covered outdoor area gives guests somewhere to spill out onto whilst enjoying the festivities, no matter the weather. As is common for our verandas, we not only manufactured the frame and canopy components, but we also carried out its installation.
The below images are of a project undertaken to replace the original copper cornicing on the top front edge of a building in Sloan Square in London. Although highly decorative, this moulding also had a functional purpose to direct rainwater away from the building’s walls.

One of our most spectacular projects was the restoration of the bronze façade on Richmond Train station. The work carried out shows the skills of our tinsmiths and metal workers, who use traditional methods coupled with state-of-the-art machinery to cut and shape our zinc and copper, giving all our work a perfect finish.
The Information Packs page on our website contains downloadable information about all of our door canopies, verandas and porches. Alternatively, please feel free to email or phone us to chat about your project.
